The short version: We collect the minimum needed to run the app and website: purchase status, basic playback preferences, limited first-party story activity data, and story idea submissions you choose to send us. The current app does not require a child’s name to play stories. We do not sell data, run ads, use third-party advertising analytics, or track children across apps or websites.
Once Upon A Me ("the App") is an audio story app for children and families. It is developed and operated by Once Upon A Me LLC ("we," "us," "our") based in Colorado, United States.
The App may collect and store the following information locally on your device:
We also collect limited first-party story activity data, described below, to operate and improve the App. If you submit a story idea through our website, we collect the name, age range, email address, and story idea you choose to provide so we can review and respond to submissions.
The current app uses prerecorded audio stories and previews. We may use text-to-speech providers such as Speechify or ElevenLabs to create story audio before it is included in the app, but the app does not need to send a child’s name to generate audio for ordinary listening.
To keep the App reliable, we collect limited operational story activity data through our own Cloudflare Worker. This may include events such as subscription or restore status, preview playback, full story playback, story ID/title, app version/build, provider/status, and a random app-generated user identifier. We do not send a child’s name, email address, location, advertising identifier, or device advertising ID with these story activity events.
We take children's privacy seriously. The App is designed for use by parents and guardians with their children. We collect only the information described in this policy to provide audio stories, process purchases, review story idea submissions, provide support, and keep the App reliable. We do not engage in behavioral advertising or cross-app tracking of minors.
In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play. We do not collect or store any payment information. Billing is managed through your Apple ID or Google Play account.

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset it in the App, or uninstall the App. Operational story activity events are retained for a limited period for reliability, support, and product improvement, then expire automatically. Story idea submissions sent through the website are retained for up to 90 days unless we need them longer for support or legal reasons.
Local data is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, encryption). Data sent to our services uses HTTPS and is handled only for the purposes described in this policy.
